Part interactive game show, part memoir, The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers takes us on one man’s extraordinary journey, both on screen and off. Marc Summers launched Nickelodeon as the host of the world’s most famous children’s game show Double Dare. The performance takes place on a replica of the original Double Dare set, with audience members competing in stunts from the show to accentuate Summers' narration of his life's triumphs and setbacks. Gillian Russo of New York Theatre Guide notes "The 300-seat space has the no-frills vibe of a TV studio, here pimped out in loud reds, blues, and yellows — and bright green 'slime' hanging from the rafters for good measure." The Bronx Opera opens its season with a program of two one-act operas: Il Signor Bruschino by Rossini, and GianniI Schicchi by Puccini, both sung in English. The Company pairs these two hilarious Italian farces which punish the greedy and reward the clever, and feature some of opera's most famous and beloved melodies.
White Rose: The Musical is a powerful new musical that follows the inspiring story of a courageous group of university students who stood up to the Third Reich. Set against the backdrop of Nazi Germany, the musical follows Sophie and Hans Scholl and a group of young activists as they create and distribute leaflets challenging fascist propaganda.
